The Otford Village Fete, run by The Otford Society, is one of the biggest in Kent. Held every year for over 80 years. Join us on Bank Holiday Monday 26th May 2025 11am - 4pm on the Otford Recreation Ground, TN14 5PR

This year’s fete theme is “The 200th Anniversary of the Modern Railway”

2025 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway. Britain and the world changed forever. Railway 200 celebrates the past, present, and future of rail.

The Stockton & Darlington Railway opened on 27 September 1825, connecting places, people, communities, and ideas, and ultimately transforming the world.

Born in Britain, rail quickly spread across the globe. Railway 200 showcases how the railway shaped and continues to shape national life.

The spirit of invention and innovation of rail’s early pioneers’ lives on, as today’s railway becomes simpler and better for all, rising to new challenges in a changing world. Rail has transformed how life is lived here and abroad: crossing continents, connecting cities and communities, and improving the lives and livelihoods of billions.

We’re thrilled to welcome a very special attraction - the Tonbridge Model Railway Club will be showcasing their impressive “Westerham” layout in the Church Hall which is the building located right next to the entrance to the village carpark on the High Street.

2025 FETE PROGRAMME

This year, we’re going paperless for the fete programme!
Instead of printed copies, you’ll be able to scan a QR code with your phone to access all the event information online. Just look out for the QR code posters around the Recreation Ground and throughout the village—they’ll take you straight to the website with everything you need to know about the day’s activities.
